Adult learners practising Japanese together

Join two actions with ながら

Take the masu-form, remove ます, and add ながら: 書かきます→書かきながら. The result means doing that action while doing another one.

『書かきます』から『ます』をとって、『書かきながら』にします。

Two actions happen at once

In 待まちながら書かきます, waiting and writing happen at the same time. The action before ながら is the background action. The action at the end is the main one.

『待まちながら書かきます』では、待まつことと書かくことを同時どうじにします。後あとの動詞どうしが、中心ちゅうしんの動作どうさです。

Make the stem

食たべます→食たべながら、飲のみます→飲のみながら、します→しながら、来きます→来きながら. Learn the masu-form first, then drop ます.

まず『ます』の形かたちを言いいます。次つぎに『ます』をとって、『ながら』をつけます。

Show the tense at the end

ながら itself does not show present or past. The last verb does: 待まちながら書かきます (present) and 待まちながら書かきました (past).

『ながら』の前まえは、時制じせいを変かえません。最後さいごの動詞どうしで、今いまか過去かこかを言いいます。
