How many kanji are in JLPT N4?
The JLPT does not publish an official kanji list. This list has 166 kanji. We included a kanji only when three widely used learner lists all place it at N4.
How is the N4 level decided?
The JLPT states that the current N4 is designed to match the former Level 3. The levels on this site are a guide based on the official Test Content Specifications used for the test through 2009.
What is on each kanji page?
Each page has the meaning, the on and kun readings from the official Jōyō Kanji Table, stroke order, common words grouped by reading, special readings, example sentences for work and daily life, and audio (audio plays with a free account).
